Summary of Client

Dr. Yidi Liu, a graduate of the University of the Pacific where Invisalign was originally developed, set out to establish her own orthodontic practice in West Lafayette. Her vision was to create a modern office led by an all female team focused on advanced orthodontic care and a supportive patient experience. The new location provided an opportunity to shape a space that feels calm, welcoming, and connected to natural elements while supporting the clinical needs of a growing practice.

Project Goals

The primary challenge involved transforming a former hot yoga studio into a functioning orthodontic clinic. The design needed to introduce clinical infrastructure while creating a peaceful environment for patients. Dr. Liu wanted the space to incorporate natural references such as wood tones and greenery while maintaining a clean and crisp palette suited for healthcare. The layout also needed to support open treatment areas, private consultation rooms, and efficient circulation for patients and staff.

Our Solutions

Progress Studio used its virtual tour workflow to help Dr. Liu review the design during early planning and make informed decisions about layout, lighting, and finishes. The plan organizes treatment areas, consultation rooms, and staff spaces around a clear circulation path that supports both patient comfort and staff workflow.

Natural materials were introduced throughout the interior to soften the clinical setting. Wood accents appear in doors, wall details, and the reception desk, while suspended greenery installations and moss inspired panels add texture and warmth to the environment. The reception area welcomes patients with soft lighting and a simple, modern desk that anchors the space.

In treatment and consultation areas, recessed and suspended lighting provide bright working conditions while maintaining a calm atmosphere. Technology is integrated throughout the clinic with treatment stations and consultation rooms designed to support digital orthodontic workflows while remaining visible to both patients and staff.

The completed space transforms the former yoga studio into a modern orthodontic practice that balances clinical performance with a welcoming environment, reflecting Dr. Liu’s vision for patient centered orthodontic care in West Lafayette.
