A ground-up construction in Connersville, Indiana built for Dr. Blythe Robbins, an established dentist building a permanent home for her growing practice.

Dr. Robbins needed a new home for her growing client base and wanted a building that felt modern yet connected to the surrounding neighborhood. She envisioned a permanent practice with a warm presence from the street and an interior that supported both comfort and clinical efficiency. The new site gave her the opportunity to shape a practice with natural light, clean circulation, and a contemporary take on residential design with white siding, dark accents, and welcoming entry elements.
The primary goals were to maximize the buildable area so the floor plan could support nine exam rooms for future growth, while maintaining a residential-scale exterior that felt inviting and familiar. The design needed to balance a modern aesthetic with a calm, approachable feel through warm textures, controlled lighting, and materials suited for clinical use. A challenge of the site was fitting the full program within the allowable footprint while remaining cohesive with the commercial corridor and nearby homes. goals were to maximize the buildable area of the site in order to build out the maximum number of exam rooms to account for future growth, as well as a modern yet residential-scale exterior to provide that welcoming feel.
Progress Studio collaborated with the civil engineer to determine the maximum buildable area and translate it into a clear, efficient plan. The team organized nine exam rooms around a centralized sterilization center and lab to support workflow and reduce travel distances for staff. The interior design reflects a modern farmhouse influence seen in the images: soft white walls, warm wood flooring, dark trims, and matte black fixtures. Hallways are lit with circular ceiling lights, creating calm, even illumination, while exam rooms include durable cabinetry, natural light, and streamlined workspaces. For the exterior, the architecture incorporates pitched rooflines, board and batten siding, and dark contrasting details that give the building a modern presence while remaining contextual. The result is a welcoming, modern dental environment that supports Dr. Robbins’ long-term growth and reinforces her practice within the Connersville community.
